Carl Carpenter, friend and supporter of racing throughout central New York, passed away Sunday, Oct 11, 2009 from injuries sustained in a head-on collision.
Carl worked at Afton Raceway from the time Jim Randall opened the facility until their regular season ended two weeks ago, side by side with his loving wife Myrtle. His enthusiasm extended to all tracks and types of racing, but is best known for his tireless efforts to promote vintage stock car racing through such groups as the Mid-State Antique Stock Car Club.
Cards can be sent to Myrtle Carpenter & family, RD #3, County Route 13, New Berlin, NY 13411.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Myrtle, family, and friends.
